Introduction to Checks

Checks are the core feature of the FDC Digital platform. This article explains the different modules, types, and schedules of checks.

FDC Modules

Checks fall into three modules:

Family Engagement - Could‑have checks that enhance parent/carer experience.

Quality Club - Should‑have checks that support high-quality provision.

Child Safe – Mandatory Must‑have checks required for compliance.

Check Types

Each check within itself has a ‘type’ associated to it. For instance, checks for opening an after school club would be denoted as ‘ASC Opening Checks’. Within this type you will have all the checks relevant to what you must, should and could do during the time in which you are opening your after school club.

Checks are also assigned a schedule to follow. This refers to how often they appear. For example, a monthly review will only appear once a month, whereas a team briefing check would appear each time you have a club, potentially once a day per check type.
